FAQ's

Which is better in terms of placements for MBA, NMIMS Mumbai or Christ University Bangalore?
There is no comparison between NMIMS Mumbai and Christ University Bangalore. NMIMS is a privately owned institution whereas Christ University is a deemed-to-be institution. In rankings too, Christ was ranked #84 amongst the top 100 Indian Universities by Outlook ICARE and NMIMS has been ranked in the top 10 list of Management schools in India by the likes of Business Today, India Today, Outlook, etc. The average salary of an NMIMS graduate is INR 17.5 LPA and that of a Christ University graduate is only around INR 6 LPA. NMIMS Mumbai can be compared to SIBM Pune, DMS IIT Delhi, DMS IIT MADRAS, Vgsom IIT Kharagpur, etc. Whereas, Christ University should be at par or better than XIME Bangalore, VIT B SCHOOL, Rajalakshmi school of business, TSM etc.
Which college should I select for mechanical engineering, Christ University or PES Electronic City campus?
Since I have friends pursuing Mechanical Engineering in both institutes, I can put their opinions in view. Both of them acknowledge the fact that the PES Electronic City campus is quite incomparable to Christ University, in terms of culture, academics, infrastructure, legacy, and factors alike. Having said that, Christ University, with regard to the industry exposure and pedagogy, is somewhat not up to the mark when compared to the PES University. In addition, the laboratories and faculty of PES University are quite better as opposed to Christ University. PES University, as my friend mention, is very strict, academics oriented and competitive. On the other hand, Christ University is much lenient and is not at all competitive. All things considered, you should only opt for Christ University if you want to pursue Mechanical Engineering. If you can take responsibility for your own studies and can secure a job yourself, Christ University will be good for you. In contrast, if you want to obtain good industry exposure and want the college to be a guiding force, then PES University will be a better choice. Here are the latest placement highlights of both the institutes, Institutes PES University Christ University Total Number of Offers 851 626 Highest CTC INR. 49 LPA INR. 13.12 LPA Lowest CTC INR. 4.5 LPA INR. 6 LPA Top Recruiting Companies Microsoft, Google, LinkedIn, JP Morgan, Infosys, IBM, Mindtree Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Amazon, Goldman Sachs However, you should also know that both of these institutes as a whole have had a very good reputation and have an accomplished alumni base. Choosing either of them will not ultimately be a bad decision. But, in terms of getting better exposure, go for PES University.
Which college is better, Christ or ISBR?
This is a common dilemma for students to choose between multiple B-schools. One of my friends recently graduated from ISBR and he believes that his journey has brought a positive change to his life. ISBR is definitely a better choice here due to the following reasons. Faculty: ISBR has a committed team of faculty members who prove as excellent mentors for you. Variety of courses: Apart from the 2-Year Full-Time programs, you can also go for a unique PGDM program offered by ISBR called global PGDM 3-Country exposure. This program is based upon a very innovative concept that provides you with a chance to travel, stay and study in three different countries, providing cross-cultural exposure to you. ISBR also has a One-Year PGDM program affiliated with Bangalore University in which you can choose a specialization from HR, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration. Events: You can participate in various events frequently organized by ISBR in which experts from various fields visit the campus and interact with you. Workshops, panel discussions, seminars, and educational sessions are held in which industry experts visit campus to interact and answer your questions. Placements: ISBR was ranked 6th in the Best Placements by Go-Getter-B-School Placement Survey. The average placement at ISBR in a multi-national company is 5.8 Lacs per annum while you can also grab the highest packages up to 28.4 lacs per annum. Legacy: The institute has also received many awards for the high level of education imparted to students. It has been awarded Best Business School of the Year by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI). Overall, ISBR is a great choice between the two.My friend also got placed in two reputed companies and it became a difficult task for him to choose one. Today he is happily working with a leading MNC and is thankful to ISBR for making him what he is today.

How is the BSc course at Christ University, Bangalore?
Shiv Nadar University is a bit too young to share the tag of ‘Top 10 Best Engineering Colleges of India’. Most private colleges are profit earners and it is not difficult for them to pay the newspapers and websites to exploit the rankings. SNU is a non-profit organization, so they don’t partake in such deeds. Rankings Ranked 52nd for University by NIRF 2019 Ranked 83rd for Private MBA by Outlook 2020 Courses offered 35 courses across 8 streams Scholarship Merit-based Average & highest salary (2019) Average: Rs 6.5 LPA Highest: Rs 32 LPA In almost 10 years, SNU has accomplished so much that takes 15-20 years for a university to attain. The new standard of education can now be of a particular rank. SNU has a modern multidisciplinary program in India which is hardly followed by any university in India. It is better than the general curriculum taught in the majority of the Indian colleges. The rankings of colleges other than by a government or a non-profit body do not decide the quality of your education or how much you grow or even the standards of that college. Such rankings carried out by a private newspaper or a profit organization is subjected to biases and by following them you might lose some good opportunities in the future.

What is your review of Christ University?
One of my friends pursued his Bcom from Christ University. Discussed below are some points based on his experience. Pros - Well maintained and clean campus with state of the art infrastructure. Excellent event management and apt organization of fests. The best auditorium and library in Bangalore according to students and citizens. Brilliant placement record and career scope, specifically from the Big 4’s. Host to different weekly events and inter-college fests. A diverse crowd provides a good mixture of culture and ethics. A good number of clubs and associations for students to join. NAAC-A graded institute and a highly respected university. Good student exchange programs with excellent Arts and B.Com. Hons courses. The university maintains quality placement & student exchange programs. It also facilitates a positive aura of learning from various people across the country. No other university in India organizes the Best Ethenic Day as the Christ University. Cons - Some of the staff and faculty members are so rude that they don't even communicate properly. Management is not that good seldom takes any legal action against the troubles & issues faced by candidates. As per the rules & regulations, 85% attendance is mandatory, but the fact is 95% is necessary to score good internal marks. Timings are not as good as sometimes students have to wait for too long just to attend a lecture of 1 hour because of unusual breaks between lectures. Sometimes there exists a massive communication gap between a particular candidate and faculty thus giving rise to misunderstandings. Although there are several cons it is a good university and is amongst the top institutes of the country and is definitely a good choice.
What are some tips for a personal interview at Christ University, Bangalore?
The first thing to keep in mind is that the interviewer will not always be joyful, more often than not they keep a straight face throughout the interview. There would be one male and one female interviewer in most cases. Out of the two, one will keep asking you questions while the other judges your body language, confidence and sometimes can also ask some questions. The key point in this is confidence. You should not be affected by how they look at you or the questions they ask you. They will try to compare other institutions and try to throw you off your game by asking whether you received calls from other colleges, but you need to stay firm in your stance and only say why Christ is your first choice. You can answer by saying, “I have read about Christ and it is a NAAC-A graded college which has top of the line facilities for my development which will make me future-ready and lead me to my goal and I will be disappointed if I don’t get in.” This straightforward answer will help in setting your target straight and will give them clarity about your intentions. Frequently Asked Questions: Start reading newspapers every day after your 12th exams are over or at least read newspapers of up to 10 days before your interview to help yourself with the GK and current affairs questions. Here are some frequently asked questions in the interview that might help you – Tell me about yourself. Why did you choose Christ University? Where do you see yourself in the next 5/10 years? What is/was your favorite subject? (they may ask a couple of questions from that subject) If you scored low in a particular subject in 12th, they may ask you for reasons for low marks in that subject. The interviewer may also ask some GK questions such as – Who is the President and the Vice-President of India? Who is the governor of RBI? You should be well aware of Demonetization, GST, Indian GDP, etc. Micro-presentation: For Micro-presentation you will get a topic from around 50. You will be given 30 seconds to gather your thoughts and have to speak on the topic for 1 min. Google ‘Micro-presentation topic at Christ University’ and go through them to get an idea. Make sure to tell them about your co-curricular activities from school and how they helped in shaping your personality.
